Hey guys, not sure if it's appropriate to start a thread regarding weather in the plains but today looks to be a major weather day. SPC has issued a high risk area for parts of Oklahoma and Kansas as well as a 30% hatched area for tornados.

At this time they are calling for large, long track tornados and say that this threat could persist into the overnight. This is the first high risk area in Oklahoma in 5 years.

Pinned....looks pretty scary across the high risk area today

Absolutely. Thinking of some of the storms out there in recent memory and then realizing that none of them carried a high risk area is flat out horrifying. I really hope everyone out there is paying attention and able to get to their shelters in time.

Quiet so far. When are the storms supposed to get going there?

A PDS Watch has been issued and looks like things are just starting to pop....
