Pattern Microwave March

Was asleep by the time you posted and have been doing lawyer things all morning - Thanks for the thoughts! ;)

Official low was 28º out at the airport (which is always a warm spot); it was 24º in both Newberry and Alachua, and 23º was unofficially reported from the ag station this side of High Springs; MBY said 26º at 7:00 AM - so it was chilly!

I'm confused. I thought Gainesville got down to 25, as opposed to 28, as per this:

My dad's theory on blueberries may be right. :) Most of his blueberries that had finished blooming and are little berries looked OK, some shriveled but the majority were okay. The ones that didn't finish looked a little iffy but a lot of them finished (crazy I know).

His evaluation on the fig tree and mulberry tree (he hasn't had mulberries yet but he is trying to grow them): the leaves/flowers look shriveled, and they will have to rebloom.

We bottomed at 25 FWIW.

It is hard to be a great radiator without also being a great warm-upper.

Did anyone in all of FL get as cold? I haven't found any so far.
working hard today - if I come up for air I'll look and see - might try Cross City and Mayo and in the panhandle ...

Alright so I gave wrong information. My dad's peaches are fine, but he says most of his blueberry bushes were badly frost damaged. I just looked at the little fruit and their formation and most weren't shriveled, but they DID have a different color to them.

Active Pattern ahead. Troughs in the middle of the country with systems cutting to the NW of the region . Severe weather is getting ready to crank up

Picked up on that yesterday. SBCape, Bulk Shear & Helicity are very healthy on these early GFS runs. Definitely worth keeping an eye on.

Are we still looking at the chance for Severe with next weeks system?

Looks like a boring pattern the rest of the month in terms of severe weather. Glenn Burns says there is nothing in sight the rest of the month to suggest severe weather. I guess we can thank these arctic air masses cooling off the Gulf which im guessing would lessen the threat for severe weather.

That's fine. For this one, it gives time (between upcoming court obligations) to go back, read and digest Webb's substantive posts, and those of GaWx, Jon and a few others, and learn a little more (or frankly a lot more) before I pipe up next winter :)
