Radar looking great for our north and South Carolina friends

After I posted my temp of 50 degrees yesterday, I went to the store and the temp actually dropped to 48 for a solid 2 hours. I believe it finally warmed up a little during the night time hours to the mid 50s. Either way It was a pleasant surprise as I didn't think I'd see daylight temps in the 40s again till November.

Why can't we get this much precip in winter when it's cold enough for snow? Over all this rain.

When cold enough for snow, the precipitable water is normally much lower since colder air holds less moisture. There's nothing wrong with spring rain. It sure beats having to water the lawn! I got very little.

Yep Knightdale is the kiss of death . Only good for Sleet

There's nothing wrong with sleet as I think it is awesome. The major ATL sleetstorms of 2/1979, 1/1988, and 2/2014 come to mind. There's nothing like the sound and the staying power of sleet. Hmmm, Tony may need to consider moving to Knightdale.

Great explanation above .

I agree , I love sleet . I just know our NC friends are tired of it . Seems like that's all they get now

Thanks, Charlie. Yeah, give Tony and us sleet several times a winter and see if we complain lol. I bet Phil also wouldn't complain. We all love Brick to death (no BB would be the same without him), but he complains about just about everything! He doesn't like plain rain. He doesn't like sleet. He doesn't like ZR. He doesn't like very light snow. He doesn't like cold and dry. He doesn't like cold and cloudy. He doesn't like warm and cloudy. He doesn't like cold and windy. He doesn't like plain thunderstorms. Lol, what would we do without him?

Larry - you're writing my bookend ... ;) So long as it's not hot and dry or coming in at 80mph plus - it's all good! Yup - you're right - I'll take sleet any old day!

He doesn't like moderate snow either if someone a couple of counties over picked up more or if the models didn't show it or it Greg Fishel didn't forecast it, he doesn't like hot and dry...... I bet we could dedicate a thread to the things Brick doesn't like Lol. All in fun and due respect Brick!

Shane should probably relocate for a time to see if the common denominator is Knightdale or him.

Btw was approaching 1.5" imby when I left for work this morning and by the look of things I should be right at it or just a touch over that by now

I needed this rain, it's not even raining anymore, it's nice, cool, and cloudy. I have an intense headache though, I often get those after a major change in weather.

Since it appears to be IMBY day -
74º with a good solid 17 - 20 mph west wind and cloudy
Supposed to be 97º w/o any rain by Friday ...

Is it just me, or is the NWS website broken outside of just getting to the website?

Edit: It might just be me and my wireless internet.
